THE ROLEWe are looking for a self-motivated Supply Chain Manager who will partner with the leadership team to support strong growth focusing on the business pillars of innovation, service, and quality. Working autonomously with a participative leadership style you will develop and enhance the incoming and outgoing supply chain quality and reliability whilst reducing costs and increasing employee safety. Their customer-centric approach will inspire and grow their team members, whilst achieving business goals and navigating the challenges associated with robust growth targets. Who will implement continuous improvement initiatives and lead in the procurement of raw materials, packaging and consumables, together with stock control and logistics functions. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIESAdherence to all Company Procedures and Quality System requirements, including CCPs and CQPs.        Adherence to site HACCP and GMP requirements and systems and report any quality issue to appropriate senior personnel.          To apply safe work practices to all aspects of the workplace, including compulsory wearing of all Personal Protective Equipment (P.P.E);         Recommend and execute supply strategies to deliver sustained competitive advantage through ongoing cost reductions, quicker product development cycle times, and improved quality and service.         Develop and foster strong business relationships with key suppliers and business stakeholders.         Excellent communication with third party contract purchasing department to ensure supply on time verse production requirements         Understand and track key commodities and other cost drivers and their impact on input prices.        Investigate alternative sources and methods of supply and recommend new and comparable materials and techniques that may increase profitability, productivity and effectiveness         Investigate reasons for and recommend methods aimed at reducing stock write-offs due to deterioration.         To place purchase orders on a regular basis sufficient quantities of raw material packaging, & Company sundries, and order accordingly    Monitor supplier performance to assess ability to meet quality and delivery requirements.         Develop and foster strong business relationships with key suppliers and business stakeholders.         Understand and track key commodities and other cost drivers and their impact on input prices.         Investigate reasons for and recommend methods aimed at reducing stock write-offs due to deterioration.         Provide training to personnel to improve their understanding of inventory control methods.         Deliver financial savings in your negotiations of input costs with suppliers.Monitor supplier performance to assess ability to meet quality and delivery requirements.         Document physical supply chain processes, such as workflows, cycle times, or system flows         Develop procedures for coordination of supply chain management with other functional areas, such as sales, marketing, finance, production, or quality assurance.         Monitor forecasts and quotas to identify changes or to determine their effect on supply chain activities.         Introduce continuous improvement of processes and systems.         Analyse system reports for inventory and purchasing.         Manage close interaction with manufacturing management to optimise service levels along the supply chain, while optimising costs         Proactively resolve unforeseen product shortages, escalate all potential supply gaps, or potential exposure to the business         Develop and report monthly and quarterly on supply chain activity and KPI’s.         Stocktakes         Initiate & manage stocktakes at an appropriate frequency. Ensure that there is an effective cut off.         Assist custodians of stock to investigate stock variances in the inventory system and take corrective action where possible.         Stocktakes submitted to the relevant stakeholders in a timely manner within the allowable time constraints.         Attend and engage in business meetings with relevant stakeholders. Provide effective management information for the development of the Annual Budget, Operating and Strategic Plans         Work as part of a cross-functional team on NPD activities within the retail calendar and other related business initiatives         Immediate reporting to QA Management in the event that food safety and/or food quality concerns arise.         Adherence to quality management standards and ensuring compliance across the Dry Goods Stores.         Review and manage labour costs of your Departments.         Apply safe work practices to all aspects of the workplace.         Promote and maintain harmony through improved communications between all Departments.         Chain of responsibilities procedures are being performed.        Promptly act accordingly if there are any suspicious or unusual observances. WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL

  • 5+ years’ experience in a similar role with FMCG and multi‑channel supply experience highly regarded        
  • In depth knowledge of end-to-end supply chain processes and best practises.        
  • Preference for prior experience managing a frozen food supply chain
  • Experience in frozen reefer logistics highly regarded.
